Auditions for the 3 shows of our Summer of Sondheim will take place Thursday, January 16 through Sunday, January 19, 2025 in the Choir and/or Orchestra Rooms at Middleton High School, 2100 Bristol St, Middleton, WI 53562. Please enter on the north side of the building.

Those wishing to audition for Merrily We Roll Along and/or Into the Woods should plan to do so on either Thursday, January 16th or Friday, January 17th. Those who wish to audition only for Getting Away With Murder should plan to do so on Saturday, January 18th. Callbacks for all shows will be on Sunday, January 19th, and will be by invitation only.

Please Note: Auditions for the role of Franklin Shepard, Jr. will be held at a later date.

Open Call for Getting Away With Murder: 5:30-10pm

SUNday, January 18:

Call Backs: Noon-10:00pm

Audition Materials

Those wishing to audition for either or both of the musicals should prepare two contrasting, 32-bar song selections, preferably one written by Sondheim or in the style of Sondheim. You may, but are not required to, select songs from Merrily We Roll Along or Into The Woods. All audition songs need to be accompanied (no a capella or backing track accompaniment). Please bring sheet music for your song, in the appropriate key. All tempos, dynamics, and cuts should be clearly marked and placed in a 3-ring binder (no loose sheet music). A skilled accompanist will be provided.

Those wishing to audition only for Getting Away With Murder should come prepared to perform a reading from that show. Readings will be provided at the audition.

If you are unable to attend our open call auditions, you may submit a Video Audition. Please see below for requirements.

Video Audition Submissions

If you are unable to attend our open call musical auditions, you may submit a video audition. Your video should follow the same guidelines above for song length and selection.

Please also submit a completed Audition Form.

All submissions must be received by Saturday, January 18 , 2025. Please email a digital file (.mov, .mp4, .m4v, .mpg, etc) or the link to your video on YouTube or a similar site (please make sure your video is set to "public") to middletonplayers@gmail.com. Please, no hard copy DVDs or VHS.
